Australia Day Ceremony PDF Print E-mail

Each year a number of Australians are presented with Australia Day Awards to recognise them as outstanding members of the community. In Launceston the award ceremony will take place on Australia Day Eve, 25 January.

There are three award categories:
  • Citizen Award
  • Young Citizen Award (under the age of 27 on 26 January the following year)
  • Sports Award
The awards ceremony coincides with the announcement of the Launceston Hall of Fame inductee.

A public citizenship ceremony is also held on Australia Day, 26 January, at Albert Hall.
