Strategic Planning and Policy Committee
The role of the Strategic Planning and Policy Committee is to consider and discuss significant long-term policy matters and make recommendations to Council. Meetings are usually held monthly on a Monday in the Town Hall Committee Room and are closed to the public.

Economic Development Committee
The role of the Economic Development Committee is to steer Council's involvement in strategic economic planning and research, encouraging investment, supporting appropriate developments, attracting skilled migrants and marketing the city as a tourist and conference destination. The committee meets every two months and includes Aldermen, economic development staff and a representative from the Department of Economic Development. The meeting is closed to the public.
Committee members: Alderman Robin McKendrick (Chairman), Alderman Tony Peck, Alderman Jeremy Ball, Alderman Graeme Beams, General Manager Frank Dixon and Manager Ecomonic Development Anna Stephenson.
Tender Review Committee
The role of the Tender Review Committee is to review the recommendations of tender evaluation panels and to accept tenders. The committee meets as needed in various locations. Meetings are closed to the public.
Committee members: Alderman Tony Peck (Chairman), Alderman Ted Sands and Alderman Ray Shipp.
Finance and Audit Committee
The role of the Finance and Audit Committee is to monitor financial performance, provide input to financial policies and procedures and consider issues arising from financial audits. The committee meets quarterly in the Town Hall Committee Room. The meeting is closed to the public.
Committee members: Mayor Albert van Zetten (Chiarman), Alderman Tony Peck and General Manager Frank Nott.
General Manager's Contract and Performance Sub Committee
The role of the General Manager's Contract and Performance Sub Committee is to assist Council by: conducting annual evaluations of the General Manager's (GM) performance; review contractual conditions; oversee the process regarding recruitment, selection of contract renewal or termination; recommend professional development strategies and content of position description for the GM. Review meeting/s are held annually, closed to the public.
