The program commenced on Australia Day in 2008 and continued on several other Sundays until the end of April. The first performance was by the City of Launceston RSL Band, followed by performances by a Newstead College band 'Younger Dyras', St Andrews Caledonian Pipe Band, St Joe's Big Band and the Youth & Community Orchestra.
