What is LAAC?
The Launceston Access Advisory Committee (LAAC) addresses the needs of a wide group of people in the Launceston municipality, especially those with disabilities, seniors, and families with young children.
The Committee started in 1988 and is supported by Launceston City Council through its access policy. Members include representatives from community organisations and Council staff.
What does LAAC do?
- Advises Council on access issues;
- Receives comments and concerns on Council and public development applications;
- Provides general information and advice on access; and
- Invites speakers to share ideas and discuss access issues.
LAAC meets the first Tuesday of each month.
Members of the public who experience an area of difficult access are encouraged to contact the LACC for assistance in resolving the issue.
