The Missed Business Booklet provides advice for businesses in and around Launceston on providing easy access to shops and businesses.
The information booklet was produced by the Launceston Access Advisory Committee. The committee recognised the need to help local businesses provide easy access for people with disabilities.
Many people do not realise that one in four people live with a permanent disability and others, like parents of small children, older adults and even delivery people, appreciate easy access.
The booklet provides businesses with good practical examples of how to make it easier for people to get in and around businesses when shopping in Launceston.
Providing good access can mean gaining more business. People who have a disability will shop with people who do not have a disability, so without good access you are not only turning away those who have access concerns, but also their friends and family as well.
