The Launceston City Council has a vast range of career opportunities available. From accounting to engineering to horticulture and everything in between, the Council can provide exciting career opportunities in a range of indoor and outdoor roles.

The following positions vacant information is provided to make the recruitment and selection process more transparent and straightforward for applicants, particularly if you are an external applicant (not a current employee). Pre-Employment Health Assessment
As part of your application for employment, you may be required to undergo a pre-employment health assessment to assist us to determine if you are physically capable of performing the job you are applying for. This process includes a drug screen. You WILL be notified IF we require you to undergo a Health Assessment.

  • 50/52 Work Arrangements in circumstances where employees need additional leave to manage family/carer responsibilities (e.g. during school holidays) or other special circumstances, they can request an overall adjustment in pay to obtain an extra two weeks leave
  • Parental/adoption Leave
  • Fourteen weeks paid maternity/adoption leave
  • Two weeks paid paternity leave
