Tourism Northern Tasmania
The focus for regional tourism in Tasmania over the coming years will be based on four regional tourism organisations (RTO) that will cover the North West and West Coast region, the Southern region, the Northern region and the East Coast.
These organisations will set the strategic direction for tourism in their region, identify annual priorities and deliver programs that engage the participation of their industry and stakeholders.
The new RTO which the Launceston City Council is a part of is “Tourism Northern Tasmania”.
Tourism Northern Tasmania Inc (TNT) is the independent body for the Northern Tasmania tourism sector. It is an incorporated association, governed by a pro-bono skills-based Board of Directors.
TNT is funded by seven Northern councils: Dorset, Flinders Island, George Town, Launceston City, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands and West Tamar councils, as well as Tourism Tasmania.
TNT is responsible for driving the development of tourism in Northern Tasmania by leading industry strategy and pursuing infrastructure, product development, marketing and relationship development on behalf of members, stakeholders and the community
