There is some important information to consider about owning goats, including the following which has been in part sourced from the RSPCA:

Goats can be very destructive to fences and challenging to keep in urban backyards, housing and gardens.

This animal can also call loudly and create an odour, which neighbours may find a nuisance.

Uncastrated male goats have a very strong odour and can show aggressive behaviours that many people find unpleasant. For these reasons, uncastrated male goats are typically unsuitable as pets.

Males of smaller breeds that have been castrated before they become sexually mature can be suitable as pets. However, castrated males of larger breeds of goats are still powerful animals that can be difficult to handle.
