Temporary Centre Closure

 May 18, 2020

In line with the State Government's Roadmap to Recovery Plan, the City of Launceston is planning to reopen the Launceston Leisure & Aquatic Centre on 15 June. We are currently working through the changes and restrictions that will be implemented upon our proposed reopening. We will provide further information in the coming weeks.

March 18, 2020
The City of Launceston has made the decision to temporarily close the City of Launceston Leisure & Aquatic Centre to the public.

The health and safety of our community and our employees are our highest priorities. We've taken this decision as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and also in response to the resulting reduced demand from the community.

As of close-of-business Tuesday, March 17, the Centre has been closed for an indeterminate period. We will review the closure in two weeks’ time and will continue to take advice from the Tasmanian Department of Health as we make future decisions.

In terms of memberships, all payments made in advance by direct debit have been temporarily suspended and memberships will be extended for the same period as the temporary closure. The existing cap on membership suspension of one month will be removed during this time.

If you wish to discuss your membership further, or have any other questions, please contact the Centre's customer service team during business hours on 03 6323 3636.
We will continue to communicate updates to you via our website and our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LauncestonLeisureAndAquatic).

This is a rapidly changing and unprecedented situation and we want to thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
