Changeroom Upgrades
We acknowledge and thank community members, user groups, and key stakeholders for providing feedback on the initial concept designs for upgraded changeroom facilities.
What we heard:
Ensuring Private Facilities Remain Support for individual change cubicles, private shower facilities and family-friendly spaces.
Capacity and Peak-Time Functionality Concerns regarding congestion, waiting times and the ability to accommodate peak demand, school groups and aquatic programs.
Maintaining User Choice Preference for a balance of male, female and inclusive changing options rather than a single changeroom solution.
Family and Child-Friendly Facilities Requests for improved facilities for families, carers and young children, including baby change amenities and child-friendly fixtures.
Accessibility and Inclusive Design Strong support for accessible, easy-to-use facilities that cater for a diverse range of users and abilities.
School Group Requirements Enhanced consideration of supervision, student management, privacy and dedicated school-use facilities.
Improved Functionality and Internal Layout Feedback sought refinements to shower orientation, circulation, dry changing areas and overall user flow.
Additional Amenity Features Requests for improved fixtures, storage, mirrors, power points, ventilation and supporting changeroom facilities.
Future Flexibility Desire for design solutions that can adapt to changing community needs and future facility upgrades.
This feedback is directly informing the ongoing design development process, providing valuable input into the consideration of facility functionality and user experience, while ensuring accessibility, privacy requirements, family functionality and choice remain central to the final design.
We look forward to progressing this project with construction anticipated to begin in the first half of 2027.
