Recycle Hub diverts 2.2 tonnes of recycling material

Launceston residents recycled on average 44 kilograms of waste each week at the Town Hall Recycling Hub in the 2020-21 financial year.

 

In total, 2.26 tonnes of material was recycled through the Recycling Hub in the financial year just ended, including:

 

313.8 kilograms of CDs and DVDs;

23.3 kilograms of plastic bread tags;

847.8 kilograms of batteries;

502 mobile phones, weighing 76 kilograms;

434.9 kilograms of coffee pods;

404 pairs of spectacles;

121.3 kilograms of printer cartridges;

114.9 kilograms of X-rays, and;

268 kilograms of small e-waste items, like video game controllers and cameras.

 

The Launceston Recycling Hub can be found in the Town Hall's Customer Service Centre, and all accepted items can be recycled free of charge.
