Your chance to play new sustainability board game
Published on 04 November 2025
The City of Launceston is rolling the dice on a new place-based climate education tool, and you're invited to play!
The Adaptation Game allows Launceston residents to play through climate change scenarios with the aim of building knowledge, community resilience and emergency preparedness.
It challenges up to four adult players per game to play through Launceston-specific scenarios including heatwaves, bushfires and floods.
Players each play a fictionalised version of themselves in the game and are guided through different climate scenarios by a facilitator.
After several rounds of testing, you're now invited to take part!
The Council intends to make copies of the game available to loan to community groups, sports clubs and workplaces across the municipality.
If you would like to find out more about becoming a facilitator for the game, a special information session will be held between 1pm and 4pm this Saturday, November 8 at the Town Hall.
If you're interested in playing yourself, head along to the session between 1pm and 4pm this Sunday, November 9 in Civic Square (registrations required).
