Bubbles will fill Launceston's Civic Square next week for Children's Week 2023.

From Tuesday, October 24 through to Thursday October 26, Civic Square will be a playtime hub for Children's Week, with fun activities between 10am and 12.30pm each day.

Along with games, chalk drawing activities and downball, the Outdoor Playtime in Civic Square program will also feature bubble blowing machines.

City of Launceston Mayor Matthew Garwood said he was pleased to see a range of Children's Week activities planned for the city, including a toddler play session at the City of Launceston Leisure & Aquatic

Centre and science and art activities at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.

"There's a lot planned for Children's Week 2023 between Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 29," Mayor Garwood said.

"As a new parent myself, it's fantastic to see a range of events happening across Launceston, including Outdoor Playtime in Civic Square.

"Children's Week is a great opportunity to meet other parents, for kids to make new friends, and to celebrate the importance of family in our community.

"I really encourage people to explore the various activities on offer and get amongst the bubbles in Civic Square."
