The City of Launceston will host a second community information session next week following the release of its draft Invermay Traffic Master Plan.

The session will provide interested members of the community the opportunity to hear and understand the proposed changes as outlined in the draft master plan, as well as provide the opportunity to ask questions.

The session will be held at the University of Tasmania Stadium, Level 2 Function Room - on Wednesday, May 23 from 6-7pm.

Entrance to the stadium will be via gate one, opposite the Shell Service Station on Invermay Road.

The Draft Invermay Traffic Master Plan

A number of major developments and relocations of large businesses mean the Invermay area is about to undergo significant change.

The City of Launceston (in partnership with the Department of State Growth and external consultants) has developed a number of major transport initiatives to address the short, medium and long-term transport issues created by the major developments, the relocations of the University of Tasmania and the general growth in the Launceston transport network.

This change brings significant opportunities for the Invermay area to address existing concerns around traffic and pedestrian and cycling safety. The Master Plan also considers opportunities to improve local street amenity and to address concerns with street lighting, street trees, signage and general landscaping.
