Council hosts retail crime prevention workshop

Launceston business owners are invited to a free crime prevention information session ahead of the busy Christmas trading period, hosted by the City of Launceston in partnership with Tasmanian Police and supported by Launceston Central.

The workshop will be held at the Launceston Town Hall on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, from 5.30pm to 7pm, and is designed to support  Launceston's business community with the tools and information they need to trade safely and confidently this Christmas.

While the session will focus primarily on businesses in the Launceston CBD, the practical advice and insights shared will be relevant to retailers and operators across Northern Tasmania.

Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on:

  • Local and national retail crime statistics
  • Emerging trends in retail crime
  • Proven loss reduction strategies to protect stock, staff and premises
