Resident survey to find Launceston's DNA

What does Launceston mean to you?

In a new online survey, the City of Launceston is asking its residents a number of important questions that will help us understand what makes our city unique.

The Council will undertake an extensive brand development for Launceston by viewing the city through the eyes of the people that live, work and play here.

Through this survey, we hope to guide Launceston towards a future where visitors and residents alike can share the experience of our place.

A key part of unearthing our Place DNA™ is understanding Launceston from the locals' perspective. Place DNA™ is a research methodology that uncovers the truth of a destination and defines what makes it unique based on a range of attributes including culture, geography, climate, natural environment, economy and more.

The City of Launceston Residents Survey has been designed to help us gain a quantitative assessment of Launceston’s key attributes.

The survey will be followed by workshops designed to add a qualitative view of resident perceptions, bringing together members of the community to discuss Launceston and its inner workings: how it is viewed from within and what makes the destination tick.

The survey is live and takes around 10 minutes to complete.
