Tomorrow night's historic clash between the Tasmania JackJumpers and Melbourne United will be screened live for free at the Jackie's Northern home, Launceston's Silverdome from 7.30pm — and everyone is invited.

The City of Launceston and the Department of State Growth have joined forces to screen what is hopefully the ultimate decider in the Championship Series.

City of Launceston Mayor Matthew Garwood said the free screening was an opportunity for Tasmanians, particularly those in the North to get behind the JackJumpers and 'defend the island'.

"We can't all be courtside to watch this momentous game, but the City of Launceston and the Department of State Growth are offering what we reckon is the second best thing — the opportunity to watch the match live and for free alongside other passionate Tasmanians in one of the State's best sporting venues," Mayor Garwood said.

"We hope it will be a great atmosphere and we encourage anyone who wants to show their support to the JackJumpers to come along to the Silverdome for what promises to be an amazing night."

Doors will open at the Silverdome at 7pm. Bookings are not required to attend the screening, but fans are advised to arrive early to secure their spot.
