The City of Launceston recently completed new line marking works at the intersection of Westbury Road and Normanstone Rd, designed to improve safety for motorists and other road users.

The improvements have been made in response to feedback from motorists that vehicles travelling along Westbury Road were often merging from two lanes into one lane in proximity to other vehicles attempting to turn onto Normanstone Road.

The new changes ensure that traffic is merged into one lane before the Normanstone Road intersection, improving safety and reducing confusion for motorists.

The changes also mean that traffic slowing to turn left into Normanstone Road will not obstruct through traffic on Westbury Road.

The Council asks that motorists be aware of the changes, pay attention to any changed signage in the area, and to always drive to the conditions.
