Hardwicke Street and Outram Street Intersection Rehabilitation

The City of Launceston will be rehabilitating a section of road on Hardwicke Street and Outram Street in Summerhill. The works will be completed by Platinum Earthmoving on behalf of the City of Launceston.

The project will involve removing the existing asphalt, undertaking full-width road base repairs, and applying a new asphalt overlay. No footpath or kerb and channel works are included as part of this project.

The upcoming works will be completed over a 5-week construction period with commencement in April 2026.

Please note timing of works is subject to weather and unforeseen events may alter programming.

During this time, traffic management will be in place to assist vehicles and pedestrians. Some minor delays may occur while works are underway however, access for residents will be maintained.

Please proceed with caution through the work zone and follow all signage and directions from on-site personnel.

Temporary Traffic Changes

During construction, changed traffic conditions will be necessary to allow the works to be completed safely and efficiently. This will include a reduced 40km/h speed limit through the work zone, with stop/slow traffic management.

Please allow for moderate traffic delays and extra time to travel. Please proceed with caution through the work zones and follow all signage and directions from onsite personnel.

Property access will be maintained throughout the duration of works.
