Lilydale Courthouse Roof Replacement

The City of Launceston will be undertaking roof replacement works at the Lilydale Courthouse, 1951 Main Road, Lilydale.

 

About the works
These works involve replacing the existing roof to help preserve and maintain the building. Construction activities commenced on Monday, 21 September 2026 and are expected to take approximately three to four weeks, subject to weather conditions.

What to Expect During Construction

The front car park of the building will have restricted access during the works. Visitors to businesses operating within the building are encouraged to use the rear car park where possible.

Residents, visitors and businesses may experience:

  • Increased construction activity within the site.
  • Intermittent noise associated with roofing works and material deliveries.
  • Restricted access to portions of the front car park.

Work Schedule 

21 to 22 September 2026

  • Installation of scaffolding.
  • Delivery of roofing materials to site.

From 23 September 2026

  • Roofing contractors will begin replacement works.
  • The roof will be replaced in stages to help maintain the weather-tightness of the building throughout construction.
Expected completion: 21 October 2026

 

The City of Launceston will work to minimise disruptions and appreciates the community's patience and cooperation while these essential maintenance works are completed.
