Ring in the New Year with a warm Scottish welcome at Launceston’s own Hogmanay Hootenanny! Back for its third year after two sold-out celebrations, this vibrant community event blends the best of Scottish and Tasmanian spirit into one unforgettable night of music, dance, and connection.

Get ready for an evening of toe-tapping live folk music, ceilidh dancing, and the rousing sound of bagpipes echoing through the room as we count down to 2026 together. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, our friendly caller will guide you through every reel and jig — no experience (or partner) required! It’s all about fun, laughter, and community.

Guests will enjoy a hearty Scottish supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, with shortbread and a wee dram of whisky to toast the New Year. Highland dancers will dazzle the crowd, while the music of Tasmania’s own Celtic performers fills the hall with energy and joy. Families, friends, and visitors are all welcome to join this celebration of culture, togetherness, and good cheer.

Your ticket includes a full evening of entertainment, supper, tea and coffee, and that traditional whisky toast at midnight. Come dressed in your tartan or simply as you are — just don’t forget your dancing shoes!

Supported by the City of Launceston, Pacdon Park, Ceilidh Connections, Range Tasmania, and Fanny’s Bay Distillery, the Hogmanay Hootenanny is more than a party — it’s a gathering of community and culture that welcomes everyone to celebrate the New Year, Scottish-style.

Raise your glass, join the dance, and be part of Tasmania’s most joyful New Year’s Eve tradition!
