Visiting and working within Council facilities
At the City of Launceston, the safety and security of our staff, visitors, contractors and the community is our top priority.
That's why we have introduced simple, consistent sign-in processes across our key facilities.
These systems help us:
- Meet our emergency and safety obligations, ensuring we know who is on site in the event of an evacuation or incident.
- Maintain building security and protect sensitive areas.
- Align with our core value: "We go home safe and well" – which extends to everyone who visits our sites.
Whether you're attending a meeting, delivering services, or visiting as a contractor or member of the public, please follow the sign-in procedure for the relevant facility below.
These processes apply to anyone accessing non-public areas.
Town Hall and Annexe (St John Street, Launceston)
Our main administration, civic and customer service hub.
- Who this applies to: Visitors attending Council meetings or civic receptions; those meeting with Councillors or staff in meeting rooms; contractors, employment candidates, service providers and tradespeople working in the buildings (excluding those only visiting the public Customer Service Centre).
- How to sign in: Head straight to the Customer Service Centre on the ground floor of the Town Hall. Use our quick self-service kiosk – it takes just moments and prints your visitor sticker. Our team is on hand if you need assistance.
City Amenities Depot (Remount Road, Mowbray)
Home to our operational crews and maintenance teams.
- Who this applies to: Contractors, service providers, tradespeople and members of the public accessing non-public areas.
