Payment Options

There are a range of payment methods available, to learn about each option please see below. 

Online

Online payments are processed overnight and received by Council on the next working day. 

Payments are not deemed to have been made until the funds have been received by Council.

Please allow sufficient time when making an online payment to ensure that you don't incur any fees or charges.

For any applications or statutory processes (e.g. planning or building applications), payments will be deemed to have been made when the Council has received the funds. 

Generally this is the first business day after your online payment was made.

BPAY

You must register for internet or phone banking with your financial institution.  You do not register for BPAY with Council.

Once registered, access your internet using the website address or phone banking then select the BPAY option and follow the prompts. 

Quote the biller code and reference number that appears on your statement.

Please remember to record your receipt number which is generated at the end of the transaction. 

Rates accounts and dog registration renewals can be paid using BPAY facilities with your financial institution.

Parking infringements can not be paid using BPAY. Please select the online payment link above if you wish to pay your infringement online. 

By phone

Please call our Customer Service Centre to make a payment using Mastercard or Visa.

 

In person

Visit our Customer Service Centre.

 

By Post

Please allow sufficient time for delivery to avoid any penalty for late payment. 

Cheques and Money Orders should be made payable to the City of Launceston and posted to:

Post Billpay

Rates can be paid in person at any Australia Post Office, by phoning 13 18 16 or by logging on to www.postbillpay.com.au.

You will need to enter the Billpay code and reference number which is printed on your notice.
