Free Entry Vouchers for Launceston waste centres
The City of Launceston provides residents one voucher for a single free entry to a Council-managed waste centre at any time throughout the year.
Vouchers are mailed to residents each July, coinciding with the start of the financial year.
The voucher allows residents a single annual free entry to a Council-managed waste centre to dispose of domestic items. A maximum allowable load limit of three tonnes — including vehicle weight — applies. Any single vehicle presenting multiple vouchers on behalf of different residents will be allowed a maximum of three, free voucher entries per year.
Valid for City of Launceston residents only.
When visiting the Launceston Waste Centre, vouchers will need to be validated at the recycling centre prior to disposing of items — this is to unload any recyclables and reusable items.
Access with a free waste centre entry voucher excludes:
- Anything for burial (controlled or hazardous waste)
- Tyres
- Car bodies
- Asbestos
- Contaminated soil
- Mattresses
Please note, domestic sized loads are allowed only. All other vehicles are charged as per the normal disposal fees.
Pensioner Concession
Pensioners and pensioner householders who hold a Commonwealth Pensioner Card may be eligible to receive a concession card know as a Smart Card.
Eligible pensioners will have their concession visits to the Waste Centre and car parks stored electronically on the Smart Card.
More information is available on the SmartCard page.
