UPDATE 13/10/2025 8:37am:

Due to lack of demand, the Council has closed the shower and recharging facilities.

EARLIER: The City of Launceston has reopened parks and reserves across the municipality following this week's storm event.

People visiting our parks and reserves in coming days should be aware that falling trees and branches may still pose a hazard.

While the Punchbowl Reserve is accessible from Punchbowl Rd, the Leith St access will remain closed until later next week.

The Council is aware that residents in some parts of the municipality have been without power for some time.

If you've been affected by prolonged power outages, the Council has made showering and device charging facilities available at the City of Launceston Leisure & Aquatic Centre at 18a High Street.

To access these, simply speak to our Leisure & Aquatic Centre staff at the front desk.
