Parking Locations and Fees

The City of Launceston offers a variety of free parking options on selected days and times in the locations listed below.

Open air car parks and on street meters are FREE on public holidays.

Paterson Street East: Free parking Monday to Sunday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Paterson Street West: Free parking Monday to Sunday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Rivers Edge at Seaport: Free parking Sunday and public holidays

York Street West: Free parking Sundays and public holidays

Elizabeth Street: Free parking Monday to Sunday 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Invermay Road (Inveresk): Free parking Sundays and public holidays

Northern Inveresk Car Park (off Forster Street): Free parking Saturday - Sunday and public holidays. This is the recommended parking location for the University of Tasmania Stadium for large events such as the AFL. 

Royal Park: Free parking Sunday and public holidays

Bathurst Street: Free parking Sunday and public holidays

Park Street: Free parking Saturday - Sunday and public holidays

CH Smith: Free parking Monday to Friday 3.30pm to 5.30pm 

Cataract Gorge Reserve, Basin Road, West Launceston

Gates are locked to the carpark at 10pm

32 Elizabeth Street, Launceston

• $3.00 for the first hour
• $1.50 for every half hour (or part-thereof) after that
• $8.00 per day for Early Bird parking (top level only). Available until 10.30am or until top level bays are full. Entry voucher must be validated on the ramp to top level upon entry
• Monday - Saturday: 9.00am - 10.00pm
• Sunday: 10:30am - 10.00pm

The car park gates will be locked at 10.00pm.

The Northern Inveresk Car Park is host to 850 car parks and is just a short walk from the University of Tasmania Stadium.

This is the recommended parking location for the University of Tasmania Stadium for large events such as the AFL.

The Northern Inveresk Car Park is open and accessible 24/7.

Payment is required between the hours of: 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday

• $40 per month for Tiger Bus permits

Free parking is available outside these hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
