Launceston’s laneways will come alive on Saturday 28 March for Thoroughfare, a full-day celebration of street culture, creativity and connection.

From 11.30am to 9.00pm, the city will be filled with art, skateboarding, music and food, turning familiar streets into places to hang out, explore and discover something new.

With acclaimed artists creating new large-scale murals, an incredible live music lineup, food and drink stalls, live skate demos and more, there is something for everyone at Thoroughfare.

Produced by the City of Launceston, this free event celebrates the city’s evolving urban culture and the creative energy that thrives in its streets and laneways.

Art

Throughout the day, artists will create new large-scale murals across key locations including Tatler Parade, Centreway Arcade, Dicky Whites Lane and Quadrant Mall. The artists include:

The main stage on St John Street will host a full afternoon and evening of live music featuring:

Food

St John Street will host a variety of World Street Eats food and drink stalls, offering a diverse range of flavours, with Launceston’s CBD eateries and bars just steps away.

Skate

Skate culture is also a key part of the program, with skateboarding demos and a half-pipe inviting participation and showcasing local talent.
