With more than 30 years’ experience in media, Ross brings a depth of skill in communication, public engagement, storytelling and advocacy. His career has spanned print, broadcasting and strategic communications, and he previously worked as a Senior Media Adviser in the Tasmanian State Parliament.

Ross is the current President of the Theatre Council of Tasmania and has long been a champion of Tasmania’s creative industries. Alongside this, he is deeply committed to strengthening Launceston’s community life, driving opportunities for local business, and encouraging bold thinking about the city’s future.

Beyond public life, Ross is an authorised Marriage Celebrant and small business owner. Together with his wife Jacquelyne, they operate a respected local ballet school nurturing young dancers in Northern Tasmania. He is also the proud father of four children, with family and community central to everything he does.

As Councillor, Ross is focused on igniting Launceston’s night-time economy, strengthening connections across the municipality’s vibrant outer regions, and ensuring transparent, inclusive decision-making. His goal is to see Launceston thrive as a city that is creative, connected and forward-looking.
