Service Catalogue
Every day, the City of Launceston delivers services that support our community, our places and the way our city works. The July 2026 Service Catalogue is the first step in bringing these services together in a clear and consistent way. It supports how we plan, manage, review and improve services so they continue to meet community needs now and into the future.
Guided by Council’s Service Management Principles, the catalogue helps us make better decisions, use resources responsibly and strengthen accountability to the community.
What is a Service Catalogue?
A Service Catalogue is a list of the services Council provides for the community. It helps explain what Council does, why those services are important and how they support people who live, work, visit and do business in Launceston.
By bringing this information together in one place, the Service Catalogue makes it easier to understand the many services Council delivers and supports greater transparency about how we serve our community.
Why we have created it
The Service Catalogue has been developed to provide a clearer picture of the services delivered by the City of Launceston. It helps us describe services in a consistent way and better understand how they support the community. This includes the purpose of each service, the activities involved and the outcomes they aim to achieve. It also supports better planning and decision-making by helping Council review services over time and identify where improvements may be needed.

Service Management at City of Launceston is guided by four core principles:

- We manage the risks of service delivery
- We measure and monitor our performance
- We achieve best value community outcomes
