The City of Launceston's annual Mother's Day Organ Recital will be held this Sunday at the Albert Hall.
Andrew Bainbridge will perform a two-hour program on the historic Brindley organ, from 2pm to 4pm, and entry is free.
Victoria's Cafe will be open for lunch and afternoon tea.
Andrew has performed throughout Tasmania, as a soloist, accompanist and choral director, in performances with the TSO, Tasmanian Youth Chorale, Island Brass Quintet, Virtuosi Tasmania, and Evandale Singers. He was appointed Musical Director of the Tasmanian Youth Choirs in 2010 and Assistant Chorusmaster of the TSO Chorus in 2011. He has been Organist and Choirmaster of both Hobart’s Cathedrals; Tasmanian State Manager of the Australian and New Zealand College of Organists; Tasmanian State Director of the Organ Historical Trust of Australia; and founding Musical Director of Hobart’s leading chamber choir Allegri Ensemble. In April 2019 he returned to live in Melbourne to take up his new appointment as Co-Artistic and Administrative Director of the National Boys’ Choir of Australia.
