Stormwater Upgrades
The City of Launceston will be upgrading sections of stormwater pipes in several locations around Launceston.
Strahan Road, Newstead
Where: Corner of Strahan Road and Walden Street, outside 19 Strahan Road and 47 Walden Street.
Date: Monday 29 September to Friday 3 October 2025.
Work Hours: Work will take place between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day.
What to expect: Installation of grate and pipe into existing stormwater side entry pits. Activities will include excavation and minor road resurfacing works.

Beverley Hills Road, Newstead
Where: Corner of Beverley Hills Road and Ellison Street, outside 1 Beverley Hills Road.
Date: Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September 2025.
Work Hours: Work will take place between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day.
What to expect: Installation of new drainage pit. Activities will include excavation and minor road resurfacing.

Where: 27-99 Opossum Road, Kings Meadows, outside Launceston Golf Club.
Date: Wednesday 24 September to Monday 29 September 2025.
Work Hours: Work will take place between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day.
What to expect: Installation of new stormwater pipe adjacent to roadway. Stop/slow traffic management will be in place.
